Larry Stephen, 45, of Marlborough, is charged with one count of receipt of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, and possession of child pornography, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said on Thursday, Aug. 17. Police arrested him in June.

Agents in Virginia began investigating Stephen in May after they found child porn being shared on an unnamed social media site, authorities said. He was allegedly sharing these images and videos under the screenname "Mango." Stephen's public email on his LinkedIn page includes the word Mango.

Undercover investigators contacted Mango, who told them he was interested in "little girls," the prosecutor alleges. Officers monitored him as he shared multiple images of child porn on the social media site before they searched his home on June 7, according to the charging affidavit.

Agents said they found images and videos of child porn on his cell phone.

Stephen worked as an ASL professor at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland. The school announced over the summer that it had placed him on administrative leave and removed him from all duties at the school.

He was listed on the school's faculty page as of Thursday.

Stephen faces a minimum of five years in prison and as much as 60 years behind bars if convicted on all three counts, per federal sentencing guidelines.
